Trinamic TMC6200-Slide6

What is required for standard setup? Adapt the MOSFETs to the required motor voltage (adding 5V - 10V of reserve to the peak supply voltage) and to the desired maximum current. The TMC6200 supports six standard N-MOSFETs or three dual MOSFETs. Determine the interface to the motor controller and required signals. High-side (HS) and low-side (LS) outputs can be individually controlled. Typical applications use separate HS and LS signals. The interface pins allow several different settings for break-before-make (BBM) logic. However, for low-cost applications, no external BBM generator is required. Use any microcontroller PWM output for motor control. Determine the current measurement and required precision. Choose sense resistors regarding the maximum motor current desired. For best precision of current measurement, it is advised to measure and fine tune the current in the application. Choose the sense resistors to the next value covering the desired motor peak current.
