The next three slides will describe the different switching methods that are available. Shown in the top view is the single pole single throw, which is one individual switch that is opened and closed with the movement of the actuator. The double pole single throw switch shown below, is two sets of contacts (or two switches) that are opened and closed simultaneously with the movement of a single actuator.
