Most battery powered applications, including wearables, are seeking to extend the operation time while extending the time between charges or replacement of the battery. Therefore, quiescent current of a device becomes very important to address this requirement. Quiescent current (I_Q) is the current that is consumed by a device when it is not switching or providing any current to the output. It usually represents a power loss. ROHM has introduced power regulators with very Low I_Q to address this need.
