The main strength of the Microchip Solid-State Lighting (SSL) portfolio is its power efficiency. However, the portfolio includes a number of other important advantages. Microchip LED drivers incorporate: functionality for dynamic white point-setting, color-mixing and brightness control; comprehensive monitoring which adjusts for aging, faults and thermal effects; registers to tune the color-temperature and support for various dimming modes; and electromagnetic interference (EMI) reduction, which is unique in that it provides different start-up delays for the individual LED strings. Complete LED system reference designs and demos will become available to allow customers to test and experience these features.
