For flexibility, Microchip LED drivers can operate in different system configurations. The diagrams on this slide represent three configurations possible with the Microchip MSL2041 driver. Drawing number one shows a single power supply driving four LED strings, number two shows two power supplies driving four LED strings in scenarios were more power is needed and drawing number three shows a single power supply driving six LED strings with two LED driver ICs in cascade to drive more than four LED strings. All Microchip LED Driver ICs can be put in cascade, thus the number of LED strings needed does not present a design limitation.
