In this picture of C5775 RG-6/U cable, note that the polyester mylar aluminum shield (Flexfoil®) is bonded to the cellular polyethylene insulation. This stops the mylar shield from sliding between the insulation and aluminum braid for improved cable shielding when attaching a connector to the cable. The copper-clad steel center conductor improves the cable's strength for CATV and MATV applications. The aluminum braid shield is lightweight and helps reduce the cost of the cable.
