Super-Sized HEAVYCON Housings

With the growing popularity of the modular insert system and high-density fixed inserts for Phoenix Contact's HEAVYCON, the available space within HEAVYCON housings has needed to grow to match it. Now that the standard (STA) aluminum housings are available in taller versions of both the plugs and surface mounting bases, there is plenty of space for even the most challenging wiring tasks.

While a taller housing alone may permit more wiring to be terminated inside the housing, there is still the question of how to guide all those wires into the housing in the first place. And the answer is M50 threaded cable entries. While previously only available for the B32 and B48 housings, that same M50 entry has been applied to the B16 and B24 plug housings as well.

When looking at the surface-mounting (also known as box-mounting) bases, they too have been made available in taller versions for everything from B06 through B24 housings. Previously limited to a max entry of M32, they can now accept up to M40 threaded adapters and cable glands.

So, whether using modular or fixed inserts to achieve a higher density solution, the taller housings with oversized cable entries can be used to connect to a user's cabinet with the confidence of Phoenix Contact solutions.
