The MCIMX53-START is the i.MX53 Quick Start board. This board was developed for design engineers who wanted a low cost development tool for the i.MX53. The i.MX53 Quick Start board has a 1GHz i.MX53 processor, a Dialog DA9053 power management IC, and 1GB of DDR3 memory. The form factor of the board is about 3 inches by 3 inches, built on an eight layer printed circuit board. The i.MX53 Quick Start board has a number of possible display options including a LVDS connector and a VGA connector, or users can utilize the parallel LCD add-on card via the expansion connector. NXP also offers an HDMI add-on card (part number MCIMXHDMICARD). Additionally, on this slide customers can see the audio inputs/outputs, expansion connectors and connectivity options. Debug is performed via a JTAG connector or DB-9 UART port. The i.MX53 Quick Start Board also includes a 3-axis accelerometer from NXP as well as a 5V, 2A power supply. The board supports Linux Ubuntu from NXP as well as Android 2.2 from Adeneo and Windows Embedded Compact 7 from Adeneo. There are also many software tools available for support.
