This tutorial will introduce the low power, high performance position sensor, the KMA36 universal magnetic encoder. The KMA36 encoder will be described and the benefits will be compared with competitive Hall Effect type sensors. The advantages of magneto-resistive sensors will be presented and typical applications will be highlighted.
