TIOS102 Digital Sensor Output Driver
Texas Instruments' driver offers low residual voltage and features integrated surge protection in a small package
Texas Instruments' TIOS102 is a digital sensor output driver that can be configured as a high-side, low-side, or push-pull driver. The driver can withstand up to 1.2 kV (500 Ω) of IEC 61000-4-5 surge and features integrated reverse polarity protection.
A pin-programmable interface allows for easy interfacing with the circuits. The output current limit can be configured using an external resistor. The fault reporting and internal protection functions are provided for undervoltage, overcurrent, and overtemperature conditions.

- Wide operating supply voltage range: 4.75 V to 36 V
- Configurable output: PNP, NPN, or push-pull
- Functional safety capable: documentation is available to aid in the functional safety system design
- Integrated protection features for robust systems:
- Configurable driver overcurrent limit range: 50 mA to 350 mA
- Active reverse polarity protection: up to 65 V on the VCC, OUT, and GND
- Fault indicator for overcurrent, overtemperature, and UVLO
- Safe and fast demagnetization of large inductive loads
- Extended ambient operating temperature range: -40°C to +125°C
- Integrated EMC protection on the VCC and OUT:
- IEC 61000-4-2 ESD contact discharge: ±8 kV
- IEC 61000-4-4 electrical fast transient: ±4 kV
- IEC 61000-4-5 surge: ±1.2 kV/500 Ω
- Large capacitive load driving capability
- Quiescent supply current: <1.5 mA (typ.) (when the driver is disabled)
- Small space-saving packages: 1.7 mm x 2.45 mm DSBGA and 3 mm x 3 mm 10-pin VSON
