Bel Magnetic Solutions presents, a first of its kind, the 1GBase-T MagJack ICM, which is designed for next-generation vehicles that utilize Ethernet signaling inside the automobile. In addition to being IEEE 802.3bp rated, UL recognized, and RoHS compliant, this automotive Ethernet MagJack has an integrated connector that is low profile, low halogen, and ideally suited for automotive Ethernet applications; think infotainment, driver-assist radar, cameras, and media converters and gateways. And to support high-temperature applications, this automotive connector has an operating temperature of up to 100 degrees Celsius. Because Ethernet is both faster in transmission speed and lighter in cable weight, the automobile industry is moving to incorporate Ethernet signaling and cabling styles to replace the existing CAN bus signaling used today.
