MAX31856 Precision Thermocouple to Digital Converter with Linearization

This presentation will help designers understand the technology for high-accuracy thermocouple temperature measurement using the MAX31856. This IC integrates the amplifier, precision resistors, high-resolution ADC, and voltage reference found in a typical thermocouple circuit into a single device. The MAX31856 automatically performs internal cold-junction compensation and linearization making temperature measurement easier, thermocouple in, serial data out, without signal conditioning or calibration required by the designer. The MAX31856 offers support for several types of thermocouples, allowing designers to work with only one device for various applications that call for different thermocouples.
