TCR5RG 500 mA High PSRR Low Noise LDO Regulator

Toshiba’s LDO regulator series achieves industry-leading ripple rejection (PSRR) and ultra-low output voltage noise (VNO), that means it is ideal for supplying power to sensitive ICs, chipsets, and other components that require stable supply. Output voltages range from 0.9 V to 5.0 V, covering the most popular voltage ranges.

With a PSRR of 100 dB (typ.), the TCR5RG can stabilize high frequency noise from external environments or DC/DC converters, which can cause malfunctions. This is in addition to the intrinsic output voltage noise, which has been minimized to just 5 μV_RMS with Toshiba’s latest process. Dropout voltage is also critical and is just 150 mV (typ.) at 2.8 V and 500 mA output.

TCR5RG also features reduced quiescent current when compared to similar-class LDO regulators. Typically, there is a trade-off between quiescent current and noise suppression; however, this LDO has reduced passive current consumption to just 7 μA (typ.) at I_OUT = 0 mA. This allows for longer operating times in battery-driven devices while supplying power to sensitive ICs and other components.

This LDO is packaged in a low profile WCSP4F package, which measures just 0.645 mm x 0.645 mm x 0.33 mm, allowing for higher density designs in mobile consumer-type products.
