Notice of Invoice System Compliance and Shipping Option Changes

Digi-Key Electronics has completed its registration as a Qualified Invoicing Business in compliance with the invoice system as of May 1, 2024. In accordance with this change, we would like to inform you of the following important changes to our service offerings.

Conditions for Qualified Invoice Delivery

Business customers requiring Qualified Invoice Delivery must select UPS (Incoterms DDP terms) from the shipping options when ordering.

Only if you order under these conditions will we be able to provide you with a qualified invoice.

Shipping Option Changes

Customers may select delivery options as needed at the time of order.

  • UPS (Incoterms DDP Qualified Invoice Support):
    Since Digi-Key Electronics is the importer and the sale of the goods constitutes a domestic transaction subject to sales tax, a flat 10% sales tax rate is applied. Therefore, a qualified invoice can be issued. We are responsible for all import procedures, and we bear all costs, including customs duties and import taxes.
  • FedEx/DHL (Incoterms CPT qualified invoices not supported):
    Since the customer is the importer and the sale of the goods constitutes an import transaction that is not subject to sales tax, a qualified invoice cannot be issued. The customer is responsible for all costs associated with importation, including storage of import permits, customs duties, and import consumption taxes. Customs duties and import consumption taxes will be invoiced by the delivery company.

Please note that tax treatment, including whether or not a qualified invoice is issued, varies depending on the shipping option selected, so please exercise caution when placing your order.

How to Read the New Invoice

The qualified invoicing business registration number, applicable tax rate, consumption tax amount, etc. will be added to the invoice.
