WE-STST Super Tiny Signal Transformers

Würth Elektronik's WE-STST series can be used in Base-T applications up to 1000Base-T with at least 350 µH inductance

Image of Wurth's WE-STST: Super Tiny Signal Transformer Würth Elektronik has expanded its LAN portfolio with super tiny signal transformers, the WE-STST series. The WE-STST series features a maximum component height of 2.9 mm and can be used in up to 1000Base-T applications with at least 350 µH inductance. The super tiny signal transformers are ideally suited for all applications in which small component size and outstanding electronic parameters are vital. The WE-STST series are manufactured entirely by machine. This enables the dimensions to be kept extremely small at only 4.7 mm x 3.22 mm x 2.9 mm while offering an insulation voltage of 1,500 V/1 min.

The WE-STS series is available in four versions for different application types. The first version features 350 µH and is suitable for LAN applications with data rates up to 1,000 Mbps. The next version features 120 µH and has outstanding signal integrity at high frequencies and is, therefore, ideal for 10 Gigabit Ethernet applications or the single-pair Ethernet with data rates up to 1,000 Mbps. The final two versions feature 300 µH or 2,000 µH and are suitable for ultrasonic sensor applications and the new standard with a transmission ratio of 1:4.5.
