Diodes’ PI3L2500 is a 2.5 Gbps to 10 Gbps 8-channel 2:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer LAN switch. The advantages include 3 GHz -3 dB bandwidth, which results in good signal fidelity at up to 10 Gbps data rate. The device multiplexes differential outputs from a 2.5/5/10 Gbps Ethernet transceiver (PHY) device to one of two outputs or enables one of two PHY devices to a common RJ45 connector. The switch is bidirectional and offers negligible attenuation of the high-speed signals at the output. It is designed for low bit-to-bit skew, high channel-to-channel noise isolation, and is compatible with 1000/2500/5000/10000 Base-T Ethernet. The PI3L2500 provides a power-down input, which can put the device into standby mode when not in use and, thus, saving power.
