Smart Bypass Diode

Bypass Diode

Texas Instruments

TI offers smart bypass diodes that are used in photovoltaic applications. They serve the purpose of providing an alternate path for string current when parts of the panel are shaded during normal operation.

  • Low average forward voltage
  • Less power dissipation than Schottky diode
  • Lower leakage current than Schottky diode
  • Footprint and pin compatible with conventional D2PAK Schottky diode
  • Bypass Diodes for Photovoltaic Panels
  • Bypass Diodes for Microinverter and Power Optimizer
  • Current - Average Rectified (Io):15A
  • Current - Reverse Leakage @ Vr:300nA
  • Current Coupled to Voltage - Forward (Vf) (Max) @ If:8A
  • Diode Type:Standard
  • Mounting Type:Surface Mount
  • Operating Temperature - Junction:-40°C ~ 125°C
  • Package / Case:TO-263-3, D²Pak (2 Leads + Tab), TO-263AB
  • Speed:Standard Recovery >500ns, > 200mA (Io)
  • Supplier Device Package:DDPAK/TO-263-3
  • Voltage - DC Reverse (Vr) (Max):30V
  • Voltage - Forward (Vf) (Max) @ If:26mV
  • Voltage Coupled to Current - Reverse Leakage @ Vr:28V
